  • *Jumping up and down in gleeful abandon*

Finished.  We're actually finished!  Opening night of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and every cast member was wearing clothes! Ha.  Imagine that. Imagine actually sleeping in my bed tonight! (life looks rather interesting after two continuous all-nighters...)  So, thanks to everyone who gave me hugs and chocolate and I'm sorry I haven't seen most people this past week - I miss you all and we should catch up soon :)

  • Emotions...

The Sons of Korah sang their renditions of the Psalms in chapel this morning.  It was stirring- and I wanted to dance.

Dr. Ricke read the Illiad in my next class.  It was beautiful- and I wanted to cry.

The sun shone and ants danced on my arm as I sat in the shade.  It was peaceful- and I wanted to sing.

What am I to do with all these blessings?

"For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
    For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Oh LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you."
        Psalm 84:10-12

  • Official Update (a.k.a. excuse not to start my homework quite yet...)

Thing 1:  I just found out that I've been cast in a touring show - a retelling of seven miracles from the gospel of John with four cast members playing 27 different roles!  I am quite literally bouncing off the walls.  Literally.  Its scaring my roommate.  There are two sets of casts - we'll rehearse together and then we'll alternate performances and fill in for each other.  We open one month from tomorrow.  Eeks!

Thing 2:  I am sewing costumes with the amazing Sara for the musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie".  My head is spinning with pictures of girls in flapper gowns... dozens of girls in flapper gowns... so if you know anyone who can sew, PLEASE send them our direction.

Sophomore year is turning out to be a very happy thing :)

  • Really... twice in two weeks is a little too much!

I'm convinced I would lose my own head if it weren't attached to me.  I lost my wallet today.  Panic is a feeling which, while becoming increasingly familiar to me, does not improve with repetition.  I do not enjoy ransacking my bag, calling campus safety, or traipsing around Nussbaum feeling lost (thanks ever so much, tarzan)!  Sigh... but it was in the DC all along...  all that panicking for nothing.  Humph.

So, any suggestions for such absent-mindededness?

  • ok, so i didn't camp out...

...but this afternoon i was indeed tripping around the woods and perimeter of the lake, only i was staring at my book instead of the stars... oh, and at the setting sun, and the giant-ish jumping fish (remind me to never, ever swim in that lake), and the romping dog (he apparently wasn't concerned about the fish because he was definitely swimming).  so now my feet need a bath because it simply doesn't work to trip absent-mindedly around a lake wearing silly shoes, does it?  i think not.
